Game Boy Advance - Custom Buttons - Gold
My buttons are hand-cast in my own molds, and feature a fully-functioning d-pad - unlike the ones from China and other retailers which do not hit the diagonals well and feel odd.
First a clear resin is poured and allowed to cure, then a mica powder is put in and back filled in a coloured resin - it is done like this so that the metallic effect will not wear off as it is encapsulated beneath the clear resin. Mica powder may be patchy on the part of the button not seen, this is the nature of the process. These are suited towards solid shell builds.
Review for Game Boy Advance - Custom Buttons - Gold
The pictures don't do these buttons justice, I'd say there are three sections of the button, top middle and bottom, the top reminds me of the white/clear gummy bears but smoother
The middle is this fantastic gold
The bottom is this odd yellow (most likely to complement the gold)
you get this really memorising effect when you're looking at the buttons at different angles, when you look at it from a 90° angle you see the clear/white gummy bear but with the gold reflecting from it, which is so satisfying
If you look at it at a horizontal angle you see the clear/white gummy bear look with the gold sort of peaking at the crown of the "A" and "B" button (not so much on the D-pad)
And straight on you see gold through the gummy bear clear layer which is just so satisfying when your looking at them
When you're outside in a sunny day or when the buttons catch the light they just make it look so spectacular and are worth the $10 (USD) pricetag
